Football always helps those who want to remember unique moments

The Levante UD Footballers Association, in collaboration with the LaLiga Foundation and the club, moves its reminiscence workshop to the Ballesol Patacona residence to awaken memories and emotions through the granota history.

Football is much more than a sport; it is a vehicle of happiness capable of reviving moments that seemed dormant in memory. Under this premise, Levante UD and its Levante UD Footballers Association have launched a new edition of the reminiscence workshop at the Ballesol Patacona residence, an initiative that uses the granota spirit to combat forgetfulness and improve the quality of life of our elders.

This project, promoted by the Spanish Federation of Veteran Footballers Associations (FEAFV) and the LaLiga Foundation, has established itself as one of the most humane and valuable social actions in Spanish football, uniting clubs from all categories in a common goal: helping people reconnect with moments when they were happy and united.

A new team: the Ballelevante UD

During the sessions, the connection between the veterans and the residents was immediate. So much so that the participants have named their own group “Ballelevante UD”, a name that merges the identity of the club with their current home, symbolizing a strong sense of belonging.

The "technical staff" of this very special team has been made up of historical figures from the Association such as Juan Barat, José María Carrillo, Jose Manuel Moyano, Antonio Lloret, and José Manuel Valero. They have been responsible for guiding this journey through time, sharing anecdotes and listening to the stories of participants like José, Manuel, Otto, Luis, Carlos, Pedro, Ángela, Antonio, Consuelo, or María, who have recalled their first visits to the stadium or the players who marked their lives.

From the center's management, María Luisa Vivas and psychologist Ana Moret have highlighted the positive impact these activities have on the cognitive and emotional stimulation of the residents.

Next stop: the Ciutat de València pitch

The experience does not stop in the residence's classrooms. This initiative, which already had a successful precedent at Ballesol Gobernador Viejo in 2024, will feature a very special second phase: the members of "Ballelevante UD" will soon visit a training session at the Ciutat de València Stadium.

It is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful tasks that Levante UD carries out alongside its veterans: demonstrating that the granota family takes care of its own, regardless of the passage of time.
